Yummy Zone specialize in Taiwanese bento boxes that follow a simple formula: protein, rice, and veggies. It's decent lunch spot if you're in the neighbourhood.
I dropped in for a quick lunch on a weekday, and had a chicken plate. The chicken was bone-in, salty with soy seasoning, and pretty juicy. It also comes with a boiled brown egg, and the creamy yolk went really well with the rice and chicken.
We also tried a braised beef dish, which wasn't as tender as the chicken but still pretty flavourful. The requisite vegetable sides were included, and they were also quite good - crunchy bean sprouts and broccoli, meaty sliced mushrooms, and carrots as well.
The rice deserves an honourable mention because it was cooked exactly the way I like it, which is a tad overdone and sticky. This may not be to everyone's liking, but I find creamy rice is best when you're working with less sauce in a protein dish.
For next time, I'd like to go back and try the famous Taiwanese popcorn chicken dish.
